OUR PROJECTS

Donation Project in November 2025 for ADHD children in Surrey School, BC, Canada

Temcy Foundation visited School District #36 (Surrey) Team, in regards to have plan for an upcoming donation to ADHD children.

ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) Overview

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a lifelong condition that impacts millions of  children and often persists into adulthood. It is characterized by challenges in maintaining focus,  hyperactivity, and impulsive behaviour.

Children with ADHD may also struggle with low self-esteem, difficulties in relationships, and  academic challenges. While some symptoms may diminish with age, others may persist.  However, individuals with ADHD can learn strategies to manage their symptoms effectively and  achieve success.

Although there is no cure for ADHD, treatment can significantly improve symptoms. Effective  approaches include education about the condition, medications, and behavioural therapies. Early  diagnosis and intervention play a crucial role in achieving better outcomes.

Here is our Campaign Plan for this Year 2025

Loop Earplugs

We look to supply each student in the SD program with Loop Earplugs, creating a more focused  and controlled auditory environment which is beneficial for students with ADHD. The earplugs  reduce background noise but allow important sounds, like a teacher’s voice, to be heard. This helps minimize distractions while maintaining a connection to the surroundings. Typically, noise cancelling headphones are large and bulky. Loop earplugs are small and stylishly designed,  making them discreet, so students can wear them comfortably without standing out. Made from  soft materials for prolonged use, they remain practical throughout the school day. Each set of  earplugs costs approximately $40,

Sensory Items for The Den

The SD Program at K.B. Woodward has a dedicated space within the school called “The Den,”  where students can find refuge from the bustling hallways. This welcoming environment ensures  that every student’s unique needs are recognized and met with empathy and support. The Den needs updated sensory tools to better support students with diverse sensory needs. By equipping  the room with a variety of sensory-modulating tools – such as calming lighting, tactile objects,  weighted materials, and sound-mitigation technologies – staff intend to create a safe and  controlled environment where students can engage in self-regulation. This will enable them to  manage overwhelming sensory input, reduce stress and anxiety levels, and ultimately return to  their classroom activities in a more focused, calm, and comfortable state. The school’s goal is not only to provide immediate support in moments of distress but also to empower students with

strategies that foster emotional resilience and self-awareness, enhancing their overall learning  experience.

Transportation to Game Ready

Studies show that students with ADHD benefit from movement and physical literacy as these  activities help regulate energy levels, improve focus, and enhance overall learning. Physical  activity stimulates the release of dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin—neurotransmitters  that are often deficient in individuals with ADHD and play a critical role in attention and focus.  Game Ready Fitness works with students in the SD program to provide a physical literacy  program that builds the social-emotional intelligence of students who are disengaged from  school. Students are connected to positive role modelling by athletes who teach them how to be  productive, resilient, well-balanced, and physically fit. With time and practice, students learn,  how to fall, how to get back up again, and that they can accomplish whatever they put their  minds to. Funding from Temcy Foundation would guarantee that students have the opportunity to  attend the Game Ready Fitness complex at least once per week.

ADHD Screening & Assessments

While students currently enrolled in the SD program have formal diagnoses, there are many  more at K.B. Woodward who cannot afford the costs associated with visiting a doctor for a  diagnosis. Without a formal diagnosis, it is challenging to provide early interventions or  successful treatment. These assessments are essential for identifying students! unique strengths and challenges, enabling the development of tailored support plans that enhance their academic,  social, and emotional success. Unfortunately, the expense of these screenings can pose a  significant obstacle for many families, restricting access to crucial resources. Funds dedicated to  covering the costs of ADHD screenings and assessments for students facing financial barriers  would ensure equitable success rates for their more affluent peers.
